Bij een Soapbox(zeepkist) denk ik aan een christen die op straat het evangelie brengt, maar dat niet vele luisteren. Dat zal in het geval van R-Swift zeker niet zo zijn. In het geval van R-Swift is het een platform waarop hij vertelt over het evangelie op een manier dat je wel moet luisteren. Soapbox is het tweede album van R-Swift en dat merk je. Het eerste album was wel cool, maar dit album is gewoon een paar levels hoger. In Session is een DJ scratch old school flavor track waarin R-Swift uitlegt dat het alleen om Jezus gaat. Good Mourning is een hip hop zomersong die je echt een zonnig gevoel geeft. De ochtenden zijn goed als je beseft hoe het leven is sinds je Jezus kent. Het lied Freedom een 70ties flow. Zonder Jezus ben je niet vrij. Lecrae en Mac the doulos ondersteunen R-Swift in Breatha. Je kunt niet je leven wegroken, wegdrinken en vergooien aan sex. Ga leven met Jezus dan ga je echt ademen(Breatha). Kiladelphia is over de stad Philadelphia en het leed dat daar is. Een lied dat je doet denken. Hoe zit het met mijn stad? When I think of a Soapbox I think of someone that’s bringing the gospel in a street, but at a time that not many people are listening. That won’t be the case with R-Swift. In his case a Soapbox is a platform on which he tells the gospel in a way you have to listen. Soapbox is the sophomore album of R and you can definitely hear that. The first album was nice, but on this album he goes to another level. In Session is a DJ scratsch, old school flavour track that’s all about Jesus. Good Mourning is a hip hop summeranthem that brings the sun out. The mournings sure are good when you realise how your life has changed since you’ve met Jesus. The song Freedom has a 70ties flow. Without Jesus you’re not free. Lecrae and Mac de doulos support R-Swift in Breatha. You can’t smoke away your whole life, drink away you whole life, sex away your whole life. Life with Jesus is a Breatha. Kiladelphia is about the city Philadelphia and the suffering that’s in the city.A song that makes you think and challenges you to pray for your own city. In American Soil R tells us about the reaping and sowing law in generations and our own life. Soapbox is a deep as can be expected from a Cross Movement CD.
