Wie kan de hit Shackles vergeten. Het was de danshit in 2000. Het was een van de weinige gospelnummers die ooit door is gedrongen in de ‘normale’ hitlijsten in de afgelopen decennia. De meiden van Mary Mary zijn een van de weinige gospelartiesten die er na jaren nog steeds zijn en succes boeken. Ieder album dat ze in de afgelopen jaren hebben uitgebracht was goud of platina. Na het album Mary Mary uit 2005 werd het wat stil rond de dames, maar nu zijn ze terug. De zussen Tina en Erica beschouwen zichzelf als onvoorspelbaar en ze hebben misschien wel gelijk, want de nieuwe single klinkt als iets wat je niet hoort in de gospel of mainstream scene. De single Get Up vraagt mensen om op te staan(Get Up). Waarom wacht je nog? Waarom zou je letten op wat mensen van je zeggen? Get Up heeft een boodschap waarin vele mensen zich zullen herkennen. De nieuwe cd The Sound zal 21 oktober worden uitgebracht en het zal een disc worden die verschillende stijlen muziek weerspiegelt. Het album bevat pop, soul, jazz,R&B, elektronische muziek en nog veel meer smaken.

The girls of Mary Mary are one of the gospelgroups that are still one the scene and are painting the canvas of gospelmusic. Every album was platinum or gold certified. After the album Mary Mary of 2005 it went quiet, but now their back wtih their new album The Sound. The sisters Tina and Erica consider themselves unpredictable and they maybe right, because the new single Get Up is unlike anything you’ve ever heard in gospel or mainstream.
