The last couple of weeks my Ipod had to work overhours. Ever since I heard the album Young Elder by Claude Deuce I don’t want to listen to anything else. Claude Deuce is a seasoned artist and that’s obvious when you listen to his album. He has written and produced it himself. The disc is one of the best I heard in years! The first single It Ain’t Over is an encouragement anthem for every christian who is going through a dark time. A relevant song in at this time of crisis in the world. Got that Stuff is a great clubbanger in which Claude tells us about Gods blessing in his life. In the Stevie Wonderish Who u R Claude takes us back into time. His vocal skills are killing me on this one. Sing boy sing!
In Math he tells us about the reaping and sowing principle. The phenomenal ballad The Word moved me to tears when I first heard it. I immediately started reading my bible. Deitrick Haddon sang this song, but Claude’s version is so much better. He sings his song with passion and vocal perfection. In the midtempotrack You Claude tells Jesus that life would be worth nothing without Jesus. In the last minute of this track he gives us a remix. I’m loving this twist. I hope he will release an entire remix of the song. The slowjam Holyghostgirl talks about looking for a girl that’s Holyghost filled. In the ballad Come Home he asks Christians that went astray to Come Home to God.
The lyrics are definitely to build the kingdom. This is an album by a Young Elder (Claude is only 28 and in elder in a COGIC church).
This album is a must have if you love R&B/urbanmusic!
This album gets 4,5 out of 5 stars
